GABBY LOGAN TAKES THE PLUNGE WITH SPEEDO SCULPTURE

Gabby Logan with Julia Carta and Kellie DaggettTV presenter and swimming fan Gabby Logan has today been revealed as the face of the new Speedo Sculpture range. She will also front a panel of experts who have been brought together to help inspire women to get back in the water after new research revealed over half (53%) of the women1 surveyed had almost been reduced to tears while trying on swimwear.

Despite the health and holistic benefits of swimming, insecurities are stopping women from enjoying the experience with over a third citing ‘the way they look in swimwear’ as the main reason they are put off.  48%2 also admit that they feel too self-conscious to take their children swimming.

Mum of twins Gabby, 39, understood the issues that were revealed in the research and said: “We have all felt the unease about getting into our swimwear, but we should be motivated by the sporting achievements from the last few months to get ourselves a little healthier and to take the plunge. Swimming is the perfect exercise if you want to feel healthy or to just relax – going for a swim always clears my mind and gives me some valuable ‘me time’ when I need it.â€

Gabby is joined on the ‘Plunge Panel’ by celebrity hair and make up artist Julia Carta and fitness stylist Kellie Daggett to give women the tips and advice they need to give them the confidence to ‘Take the Plunge’ and get into the water.

40%3 of women admit they struggle to find a swimsuit to suit them in the first place, so Speedo has launched its new Sculpture swimwear range to help tackle the problem.  Speedo has applied its design expertise, gained through years of creating record-breaking swimsuits for athletes to the female form. This unique range helps nip in waists and flatten stomachs, the biggest body hang up according to 40%4 of women surveyed.

Sally Polak, Marketing Manager for Speedo UK comments: “We hope that our Sculpture body shaping range of swimwear along with the tips and advice from our Plunge Panel will give women the motivation and confidence to get back into the water and enable them to reap the many physical and mental benefits of swimming.â€

The modern age is also playing a part in fuelling the fear, as a quarter of women actively avoid getting into swimwear in case unflattering pictures appear on social networking sites. With almost a fifth of women having suffered the indignity of a see-through swimsuit and the same amount5 again having their swimwear fall to their waist after jumping in the water, Speedo hope that their Sculpture range will give women the confidence that at least their swimwear won’t let them down.

The Speedo Sculpture range can be found in selected stockists including John Lewis, Bravissimo, Figleaves, DW Sports and the Speedo Store.
